Doug White (Principal)

Dip (Turf Culture)
Doug
has been involved in
environmental consultancy
for nine years and has
surveyed in excess of 50
locations in the Gold Coast,
Beaudesert, Brisbane and
Redlands regions. He is
currently employed by the
Beaudesert Shire as the
Project Officer for
Tamborine Mountain Landcare
and until recently was Mt
Tamborine Escarpment
Management Strategy Project
Coordinator. Doug is also a
registered spotter catcher
and the past President of
the Gold Coast and
Hinterland branch of the
Wildlife Preservation
Society of Queensland.
Doug has extensive natural
history knowledge, is a
recognized authority on
fauna and flora and has
trained various
environmental, horticultural
and agricultural groups
including Green Corps, TAFE,
Australian Trust for
Conservation Volunteers and
Lesley Wemyss Training
School.

Damian White
BSc (App Bio), PGDip
(Cons
Bio),
PhD Candidate
Damian
White is currently
finishing his PhD
research thesis
investigating the
effect of habitat
fragmentation on
faunal diversity
(both vertebrate and
invertebrate) in the
Gold Coast City. As
a result of his
consultancy work and
PhD project, he is
recognised as one of
the regions most
proficient and
prolific fauna
surveyors having
completed studies at
over eighty sites.
Damian was
previously employed
on a casual basis by
the Gold Coast City
Council to critique,
review and update
their citywide
vertebrate fauna
species list. He has
previously been
employed as a
research assistant
at the University of
Queensland
Entomology
Department, the
Centre for Tropical
Pest Management and
at the Department of
Primary Industries
at Toowoomba.

Narelle
Power
BSc (Hons)
Narelle has
extensive
experience
in the field
of
entomology,
holding a
Bachelor of
Science
degree
majoring in
Entomology,
and an
honours
degree,
which
investigated
the temporal
and spatial
ecology of a
previously
little
understood
Dipteran
Family. This
study also
resulted in
the
identification
of several
new species
of
Therevidae.
Narelle was
also
involved in
research
into the
potential
use of
native
Australian
seed-feeding
fruit flies
in the
biocontrol
of
Senecio
madagascariensis.
Narelle has
been a
member of
the Fauna
Survey Team
for the past
4 years, and
has also
been the
project
officer for
a
revegetation
component
funded by
Coastcare
for the
Loders Creek
Catchment
Association,
and been
employed as
a research
assistant at
the
University
of
Queensland,
and Griffith
University.
Narelle
undertakes
wildlife
photography
for
ddwfauna.

Jeannie
White
Jeannie
White has
been
involved in
revegetation
programs
extensively
for the past
5 years, and
has been the
supervisor
for several
Work for the
Dole and
Corrective
Services
programs.
Jeannie has
been
managing the
accounts for
the members
of ddwfauna
for a period
of 10 years.
Jeannie is
currently
the
Treasurer
for the
Wildlife
Preservation
Society Gold
Coast and
Hinterland
Group, and a
committee
member of
the Loders
Creek
Catchment
Association.
